The Freedom of Expression Committee (FEC) defends freedom of expression at the University of Ottawa. It is an independent support group for students and professors of the university who choose to express and voice their concerns at injustices perpetrated within the university.

The FEC supports the activism course (SCI 1101/1501 and SCI 2101/2501), the Ottawa Cinema Politica series, and Professor Rancourt in his difficulties with the reactionary and conservative elements of the university administration.

Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities responds:
They have "no jurisdiction".

What happens when you appeal to the Government of Ontario to help you fight against bullying university administrators?
They write you a nice letter saying they can't help you... and Thank you for this opportunity to tell you so.

PETITION STATEMENT:
In removing Professor Denis Rancourt from all three first-year courses that he has developed, the President, VP-Academic, and Dean of the Faculty of Science of the University of Ottawa have violated freedom of expression. We ask that they be resigned from their positions and that Prof. Rancourt's courses be reinstated.

SIGN UP FOR THE FALL 2007 'ACTIVISM COURSE AS PROTEST'

Prof. Rancourt will give the activism course in protest no matter what.
See: https://freedomofexpress.tripod.com/id76.html .

The course will be a real activism course in which the course itself is a protest. Such a protest is legal under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, since all other avenues have been exhausted.
